Donatella Decise

Global Director - Patient Engagement Sobi

Donatella holds a master degree in Chemistry (1996 – University of Milan), and a degree in Psychology (2015 – University of Novedrate – Italy).
After five years at the National Cancer Institute of Milan where she served as Radiochemist for PET, she joined Pharma Industry covering different roles in Medical, Marketing and Patient Engagement for Schering-Plough, AstraZeneca, Novartis and Sobi in the areas of Oncology, Hepatology, Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Haematology, Nephrology and Rare Diseases.
Donatella covers the role of Patient Engagement and Communications Director since 2013, at European and Global level (for Novartis and, since 2023, for Sobi).
She also teaches Patient Involvement in R&D at the Master in Clinical Research (MARM – ISTUM, Milan).
When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, playing golf, playing drums and competing in aerial rallies.

  • Designing and implementing a global KPI framework for rare disease patient engagement through Unite for Rare, including internal data collection across affiliates and functions
  • Measuring and publicly reporting patient engagement commitments via an annual fact sheet, incorporating feedback and validation from patient communities
  • Addressing the “final link in the chain”: combining activity metrics with qualitative evidence to demonstrate whether patient engagement initiatives truly make a difference for patients
